quintessential vermont

Strawberry Hill Farm is a 189 acre multi-use property located in the heart of Stowe, Vermont. Established in 1825, the farm has been a fixture in Stowe for many generations. Situated on an uncommonly flat tableland with sweeping views of the mountains beyond and access to hundreds of acres of conserved forestland, the farm is both an agricultural and recreational haven. The current owners, David Wilkens and Molly Pindell, seek to manage this unique piece of land in a manner that will benefit many users, both private and public. Roots 2019

ROOTS is a walk around tasting event / cocktail party featuring natural wines from Cork wine bar, beer and cider from breweries around Stowe, snacks and bites from 20-30 of the best restaurants and food producers in our local area, and a whole animal grilling experience curated by Woodbelly Pizza. While we love throwing a great party, Roots seeks to do things a little differently from other fundraising events; the event is a zero waste affair, so there are no plates, cups, napkins, or cutlery. And most important, we are committed to 100% of the ticket sales from the event going directly to the Vermont Foodbank. To that end, most of the food, drink, and labor are donated. Last year, Roots raised over $62,000, which went directly to a new program called Vermonters feeding Vermonters. The program’s goal is to increase the amount and quality of fresh, healthy food distributed to those in need by purchasing high quality fruits and vegetables directly from Vermont growers to distribute to Vermonters facing hunger.
